ラム1200のスパイ写真が新たに公開され、これまで以上に明らかになりました。最新のスパイ写真には、大きな偽装がはがされ、小さめのピックアップトラックは、トラックトッパーで隠された荷台のために、極めて長いSUVのように見えます。以前のプロトタイプに比べると、ジープ風の丸いヘッドライトやフィアット・トロから流用されたテールライトは失われ、最終的なライトアセンブリーであると思われるものに置き換えられました。この新しいトラックは、内部で「プロジェクト291」と呼ばれ、2016年から2019年にかけてフィアット・フルバック/三菱トライトンのリバッジ版として使用された「1200」の名称を復活させることが期待されています。このトラックはラム1000/フィアット・トロよりも上位に位置し、コンパス、コマンダー、およびその他のステランティス製品から採用されたスモールワイド4×4アーキテクチャを搭載する予定です。
プロトタイプはフィアット・トロよりもわずかに大きく、フォード・マーベリックと同じくらいの大きさか、少し大きいかもしれません。ダブルキャブボディスタイルのための長いホイールベースと豊富なグラウンドクリアランス、スクエアのホイールアーチ、デュアルエキゾーストチップを備えています。噂によれば、ラムは新しいターボディーゼル2.2リットルエンジンを搭載しており、およそ200馬力、325ポンド·フィート(441ニュートン·メートル)のトルクを発生するとされています。また、他のステランティスモデルからの9速オートマチックトランスミッションに対応したエタノール互換のガソリンエンジンも用意される予定です。このユニボディトラックは、ブラジルのペルナンブーコ工場で生産され、レネゲード、コンパス、およびコマンダーが組み立てられています。正式な発表は今年後半に予定されています。現時点では、ラムは1200を米国に持ち込む可能性については一言も言及していません。
